Life Coaching with Dr. Ivor Garlick

I am a professional, co-active coach, trained at the Co-Active Training Institute. As a “co-active coach” I work with my client together, as a team, to facilitate the process of personal growth and change.

As a practicing physician, with many years of experience, I realized that people who feel “stuck” in their lives, career, feelings, etc. could benefit from the coaching model to achieve their goals and aspirations.

I provide a safe and secure environment for my clients, I have a multi-focal approach of using the mind, heart, body and spirit to help clients identify and explore their inner strengths and values to empower them to achieve the changes they wish to make.

I can be reached at 303-873-6990 ext. 1 or you can email me at garlickcoach@gmail.com.

Q&A with Dr. Garlick

What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about coaching is when a client's mind opens up to a new thought, new idea, new attitude or a new approach to a problem they have tried to resolve. It is not the resolution of the problem that I love as much as the change in the clients way of seeing the problem and finding new ways to work out the solution. Being a part of that process with another person, is what I love about my job.

What inspired you to become a life coach in addition to being a physician?
I have always been in my own practice of medicine but what inspired me to become a life coach was when I realized how my own clients/patients could make changes through coaching. I wanted to be a part of their journey to help them reach their goals. I trained as a co-active coach because co-active coaching emphasizes working in conjunction with the client to help them achieve their goals. It is rewarding to be part of this practical and collaborative process.

Why would someone want to choose you as their coach?
I bring my professional experience as a physician and counselor to my work with clients. I have helped patients with substance use disorders to find recovery and abstinence as well as adding fulfillment to their lives. I have also worked as a correctional medicine physician where I have counseled people in crisis to make changes in their lives for their better, and as a regional medical director where I have managed and coached professionals within a corporate environment. Furthermore, I have been involved in a spiritual program and feel I have a very broad and universal view of people, life and behavior. All these experiences make me a better coach, physician and person. I believe I have the skills to guide people in coaching to help them find paths to "move them on" from a place of being "stuck". Clients who are looking for insight, guidance, compassion and even spirituality, along with the wisdom I have gained over the years, should choose me. Thank you.
